Name: gaggaa
Shape:
Spelling: ਗ਼ਗ਼ਾ
Sound: 'g' as the 'g' in 'goat'
Type: Consonant

Mouth: hold your mouth in exactly the same way that you would if you were saying the sound of the Roman alphabet letter 'k' or 'g' as in the start of the word 'goal' but with the place where your tongue touches the roof of your mouth, a little further back.
Tongue: Curved so that the middle of your tongue touches the top of your mouth roughly where your soft palette meats your hard palette.
Soft Palette: blocking nose
Lips: apart
Vocal Chords: Used
Aspirated: no

Confusion: ਗ ਰ ਰਾ Remember the paer bindi - ਗ਼ ਗ
Reading: Between ਗ ('g') and ਰ ('r').
Between ਗ ('g') and ਰਾ ('ra'). Note that the Kannaa (ਕੱਨਾ - 'ਗਾ') only goes half way down the height of the characters.
Writing: Again, between ਗ ('g') and ਰਾ ('ra') although with writing this, it is down to carelessness. Note that the Kannaa (ਕੱਨਾ - 'ਗਾ') only goes half way down the height of the characters. With a 'g' (ਗ), make sure that you draw it all of the way to the bottom.
